Healthy Winter Drinks
While smoothie bowls are delicious, they’re making our teeth chatter a bit too much at the moment. As the weather changes, so will our drinking habits. We’re reaching for rich and creamy drinks. But of course we love when they also have a healthy twist. Here are our favourites for when we want healthy, warm, and nourishing. All at once.
Turmeric Latte
Turmeric lattes are like a warm hug in a mug. Made with a mix of turmeric and other spices aimed at helping the body absorb the turmeric, the usually powdered mix is combined with your choice of milk for a huge dose of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. The turmeric is warm and spicy while the added flavours, usually cinnamon and black pepper give it an extra kick. Best served with almond milk.
Healthy Hot Chocolate
Hot chocolates are always a favourite go-to when the weather cools down. But they’re often filled with refined products, heavy milks, and of course a lot of sugars. We like to make ours using unsweetened almond milk, raw cacao, cinnamon, and maple syrup to sweeten. This gives you full control over what goes in and how sweet it is.
Matcha Lattes
Matcha is the creamy green tea of our dreams. This one is perfect when you want that added antioxidant hit as well as a warm mug. And the Instagram worthy green colour isn’t bad either.
Flavoured Warm Milks
Sometimes you feel like something warming right before bed, but don’t want all the fuss of making it. Warming some almond or coconut milk is a delicious option when you add your favourite spices and maybe a touch of sweetener. We love cinnamon, vanilla, cacao, or chai. Add sweetener to taste.
