DIY Avocado Face Mask

The avocado, packed full of vitamins (vitamin A, K, C, B6 if you were wondering), potassium, fibbers and healthy fats, it’s not only good for you, but also a great versatile ingredient for your healthy dishes. Smash it, slice it, chop it, blend it… whatever you want to do, avocado can do.

But did you know it also makes a great basis for an easy homemade DIY face mask? If you have half an avocado left over, why not try it out yourself. The vitamin A helps get rid of dead skin cells, whilst the antioxidants helps to detoxify your body from premature ageing toxins, which means less wrinkles and a healthy youthful glow. It’s also highly moisturising, so perfect for dry skin.

For this avocado face mask, we mixed it with yogurt and honey, which both have plenty of health benefits: the lactic acid and enzymes in yogurt helps hydrate and soothe, leaving it soft and smooth, whilst honey has natural antioxidantsto help protect the skin from sun damage, and absorbs impurities from the pores, making it a perfect natural cleanser.

You will need:

1/2 avocado
2 tablespoons of yogurt
1 tablespoon honey

1. add all ingredients together in a blender and mix until really smooth

2. use a brush or your fingers to spread it evenly on your face, carefully avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for 20mins wipe it off with lukewarm water.

Once you realise how easy and cheap it is to make your own masks, you’ll never want a spa treatment again!

Thank you!
