Finding Balance

It's easy to overdo it when it comes to exercise and movement. We generally stress ourselves with work, social engagements, diet and lack of sleep, so piling on a rigorous workout has the potential, in some cases, to do more harm than good. Improve your outlook with habits that put yourself before your self before your selfie with these familiar and simple ways to add balance into your life.  Discover wellness habits outside of the studio and spa, by adding these small balancing practices into your everyday.

Set Boundaries

Take some time to reflect on your past week. How are you feeling? What is your current state of mind? Notice the areas of your life that you’re neglecting. It’s often that when we skip a daily walk or yoga class we love so much when our serotonin feels low.
Prioritise the activities that bring balance to your life and make a list for clarity. Just like accomplishing any goal in life, it takes time and effort to overcome our habitual patterns and create new ones.

Learn to balance - physically

On a metaphysical level, holding oneself in tree pose helps one to achieve balance in other aspects of life.

Begin by shifting your weight onto your left foot, lift the right foot off the floor leaving your right leg still standing straight.

Bend your right knee and slowly bring the sole of your right foot onto your inner left thigh, avoid resting your foot on the knee.

Apply equal pressure to your grounding foot, breathe out and raise your arms above your head.

Hold here for 3 slow breaths.

Take your arms down and finish the sequence with the opposite leg.

Try closing your eyes to experiment with your balance and spatial awareness.

Slow Down

Everyone's outlook is different, whether you journal, meditate or enjoy an afternoon nap on Wednesday afternoon. Whatever your method, there are lots of small techniques to add a daily dose of positivity to your day. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, take time to slow ~ down

Thank you!
